Grammy winner Nelly and recently unmasked virtuoso T-Pain will be the musical headliners at the 2020 Pegasus World Cup Championship Invitational Series, the multimillion-dollar thoroughbred racing event at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach on Jan. 25.
The two will perform in the trackside club known as the Pegasus LIV Stretch Village, a collaboration between David Grutman’s Groot Hospitality, of LIV nightclub fame, and the Pegasus World Cup.
Tickets to the Pegasus LIV Stretch Village cost $60 general-admission and $300 for VIP access to the Sky Deck, which includes a premium open bar. Visit PegasusWorldCup.com or call the Gulfstream Park box office 833-464-7924.
Veteran hip-hop star Nelly is a crossover favorite who performed at the Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale in 2017 and was just named to the lineup at this year’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in June. His Bonnaroo set will be a track-by-track performance of the album “Country Grammar” for its 20th anniversary.
T-Pain broke out a decade ago among a crowd of rappers who twisted their voices with Auto-Tune (see “Buy U a Drank”), but he has always had a really fine singing voice. He used this talent (in character as the Monster) to surprise the celebrity judges in winning Season 1 of the Fox reality-entertainment show “The Masked Singer” last year.
